Reading, Listening, Watching 16

It seems forever ago that I last wrote about what we've been watching (as well as reading and listening) and we've done a lot of watching over the Christmas period. We all had a good break and spent a lot of time together. So I'll just get on with it shall I?

Reading

As I said in the last one of these I was finishing Daisy and Bobby by John Locke and did so quickly. I went straight onto Midnight Sun by Stephanie Meyer, and that's what I'm currently reading. I'm about 50% through it and although I loved the Twilight Saga I'm unsure about Midnight Sun - some passages I love, others not-so-much. I'll finish it, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it to Twilight fans, saying that though I suppose I could change my mind. We shall see.

Listening

I haven't done much listening over the holidays so the Podcasts have been on pause and I changed the music I was listening to too. During the break I spent a lot of time listening to Christmas music and other pop music which means I'm eager to have a listen to a few of my favourite soundtracks including Westworld and Dexter. Of course now we're all back to learning and working I can get on with the podcasts again.

Watching

Okay so this is where it gets busy. Like I said we spent a lot of time watching our favourites during the holidays which means we finished Red Dwarf and House of Cards. No surprise there. The TV series we moved onto were Westworld and Breaking Bad and we've finished Breaking Bad and are just about finished with Westworld. I've no idea what TV series we'll watch next - maybe it'll be The Office (US) again, I do love that show.

Movies have featured heavily and of course the Hubby and I watched Love Actually (as is tradition) on Christmas Eve. A few other movies we've watched recently include 50 First Dates starring Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler, Just Go With It (another Adam Sandler movie), and The Invention Of Lying starring Ricky Gervais. I'm not usually a fan of Ricky Gervais, his original character in The Office (UK) irritated me and he played that character a lot - but when he's playing a different character he's actually not bad. The Invention of Lying is different, not a romantic comedy and not action-packed.

We obviously involved the kids in the movie watching too and they've enjoyed The Holiday starring Jude Law, Cameron Diaz, Jack Black, and Kate Winslet. It's a great Christmas movie and the kids loved it! We also watched Shrek The Musical (the US version). We love the soundtrack for the show and have listened to it so much in the car when we spotted the musical on Amazon Prime we simply had to watch it. As expected we loved it, and wished we could've seen the original Broadway show.

I'm going to leave it at that this time, we've watched so much that it would take forever to list them all but these were our faves.

Until next time.
